Raducanu Withdraws from French Open and Wimbledon

British Number One Out Due to Injury

Raducanu to Miss Grand Slams

British number one Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the French Open and Wimbledon while she recovers from a minor injury. The 21-year-old announced the news on Wednesday, just 24 hours before qualifying was due to begin at Roland-Garros.

Raducanu, who reached the fourth round of the French Open in 2021, has been struggling with a back issue in recent months. She said that she has been advised to rest and recuperate in order to avoid aggravating the injury.

The news comes as a blow to Raducanu, who was hoping to build on her success at the Australian Open in January. She reached the semifinals of that tournament, becoming the first British woman to reach the last four of a Grand Slam since 1978.

Raducanu's withdrawal from the French Open and Wimbledon is a major setback for the British player. She was one of the favorites to win both tournaments, and her absence will give her rivals a major boost.
